THE CSA COMMISSIONING ENGINEERS COMPENDIUM
This has been written as a site reference book for use of working commissioning technicians and engineers. It contains guidance on air systems, water systems, heat exchangers, refrigeration, basic electrics, motor starters and pulleys. Conversion charts, basic SI units, area and volume formulae, health & safety guidance and a listing of relevant British Standards are also included.
DISTANCE LEARNING COURSES- AVAILABILTY AND PURCHASE
The Distance Learning Courses are available in one of three ways:

As a STANDARD package. |
The Student pays for the course (Part 1, 2 or 3). The first three modules plus binder are sent. Included in the package are a number of postcards. A Tutor is assigned. The Student works through the Modules, carrying out the exercises contained in them.
At the end of each Module the Homework is completed and sent to the Tutor for assessment. At the end of the three Modules one of the postcards is completed and sent to the CSA office. This releases the next set of Modules.
When all of the modules have been completed, an Assessment Test is arranged for the Student. Satisfactory completion of the Assessment Test plus the Tutor feedback on the Homework assignments decides whether or not the Student has passed the course. Passing the course entitles the Student to a formal Certificate of Attainment.
COSTS: Part 1 = £225 + VAT; Part 2 = £275 + VAT; Part 3 = £325 + VAT

As an INDIRECT package |
The mechanism is the same as for the Standard package, except that the Modules are grouped by subject. The Module split is designed to allow all of the air or water Modules to be completed as a series. This permits Students to concentrate on a particular discipline, sometimes valuable for a Student who has experience of air systems, but knows little of water systems, etc.

Some interested people may be quite experienced in commissioning or may just want to know what the various aspects of the work are. To facilitate this the CSA can supply the three Parts as just the Modules. These come in the CSA binder for each Part. There is no tutor backup, no Assessment Test and no certificates are issued.
